Jaime Streeter - Practice Manager.
Jaime's start in the Veterinary Industry was over 20 years ago, working within a small animal practice in the northern suburbs. From there she has spent over 10 years working at a veterinary wholesaler, servicing veterinary practices all over WA. She has now returned to clinic life here at Melville, and couldn’t be happier amongst all the wonderful staff and lovely patients.
Dr. Toby Hambling BSc. BVMS.
Toby graduated from Murdoch University in 1999, before moving to the south-west region to work in mixed practice for 2 years. From there, Toby moved to the UK, where he worked in small animal practice for a further 2 years. In 2003, Toby returned to Perth and continued his work with small animals in the southern suburbs until he joined us in February of 2012.
Dr. Sarah Reid BSc. BVMS.
Sarah graduated from Murdoch University in 2001 and started her career in small animal and equine practice in Kalgoorlie, her home town. She has also worked in several small animal practices in and around Perth, and spent 2 years locuming in the UK.
Sarah particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and has a special interest in Bloat/GDV prevention surgery.
Her interests outside of work include photography, cooking, travelling, SCUBA diving, skiing and all things Great Dane!
She is the proud mum of Great Danes Izzy and Layla. Sarah joined the Melville Animal Hospital team in March 2015.
Dr. Murray Reid BVSc. Hons.
Murray first began work at Melville Animal Hospital in 1973! During this time he transitioned from full-time vet, to co-owner, before selling his share in the practice to reduce his workload. Dr. Reid has gained a loyal following during his career at Melville and has become close with many families and their pets. Murray now enjoys part-time work at the clinic and celebrated his 40 year anniversary in 2013!
Dr. Teresa Walsh BSc. BVMS.
After graduating from Murdoch University in 1999, Teresa worked in the Swan Valley with small and large animals for 2 and a half years. Following this, Teresa moved to the UK, where she worked in small animal practice for 3 years. Teresa then moved back to Australia and locumed around Perth for a year, experiencing a variety of practices. In April 2006, Teresa settled here at Melville which she has loved so much she hasn't moved since!
Dr. Kate Bullen BSc. BVMS.
After graduating from Murdoch University, Kate began practicing in small animal clinics in Perth before moving to Melbourne. There, she started work with the RSPCA. Following this, Kate moved to the UK where she worked in a small animal emergency hospital in London. Eventually, Kate returned to Melbourne to continue her work in small animal practice before moving to Perth and starting work with us part-time.
Dr. Tony Pusey BSc. BVMS.
Tony graduated from Murdoch University in 1981. Tony has worked in both small animal and mixed practice, having owned practices in Perth and Margaret River. After a break from practice during which he returned to university and became involved in environmental consulting and fauna management in the Pilbara, he returned to Perth to manage the vet clinic at the Cat Haven. Tony is happy to return to general practice here at Melville Animal Hospital.
Nikky - Head Nurse (Qualified / Registered), Qualified Dog Trainer.
After starting her time at Melville as a work experience student, Nikky completed her nursing qualification in 2001. She continued nursing here for 6 years before taking some time off to travel and work overseas as a vet nurse and trainer. Nikky has since returned to Melville Animal Hospital in 2012, and continues to practice as a nurse as well as running Dog Obedience classes and at home behaviour consultations. She has a special interest in dog behaviour and training.
Sara - Head Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Sara began her nursing career in New Zealand volunteering at NZSPCA. Upon qualifying as a veterinary nurse, she worked in mixed and small animal practices in New Zealand, London and Australia. Sara began at Melville in March 2012 and has an interest in surgery and anaesthesia.
Joy - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Joy qualified as a veterinary nurse in the UK IN 1984 and worked there and in Australia over the last 30 years, including time in Sydney, Broome and Albany. Her free time is spent out around the Perth foreshore and beaches with Sunny her two year old Mastiff x Staffy. Sunny also "helps" Joy in the garden at home.
Kirsty - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Kirsty's interest in nursing began in Cyprus where she volunteered in various rescue centres for 3 years. Moving back to the ÚK she began her training to become a registered veterinary nurse at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons working for a small animal practice. Whilst there she was lucky enough to work with the local wildlife park nursing a variety of exotic species such as primates and big cats. Kirsty recently moved to Perth where she is now living with her husband and 2 dogs Joey & Tilly.
Helen - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Helen started her vet nursing career at Melville back in 1989 as a trainee nurse and then as a qualified nurse until 1992. Over the years Helen has worked with both large and small animals in Edinburgh, Bristol, Tom Price and Paraburdoo as well as back at Melville and a few other practices in Perth. She has a golden retriever called Snowy and several breeds of chickens as well as a husband and 3 kids! As a long time Melville community member she enjoys interacting with both owners as well as their pets here at work.
Jodie - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Jodie started working at Melville in 1993 as a veterinary nurse. She then took some time off to spend time with her daughters and returned in 2010 in a part-time capacity. At home she has quite the menagerie with dogs, rabbits and a bird.
Jo - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified / Registered).
Jo began nursing as a trainee at Melville in 1994, before completing her qualification in 1995. She continued nursing at the clinic until 2000, when she took some time off to have a family. In 2006 Jo returned to part-time shifts at Melville and various other Perth clinics, while also running dog training classes in the Melville area.
Georgia - Veterinary Nurse (Qualified/Registered).
Georgia started at Melville Animal Hospital in early 2014 as a kennel hand, she has recently completed her veterinary nursing qualifications. She has a special interest in wildlife rehabilitation, having volunteered at a wildlife centre for the last 4 years.
